Total Regenerated Energy
The generated power (regenerative power) is measured, recorded in memory, and displayed.
Power can be generated by utilizing the weight of objects in motion, such as large cranes or large presses. This regenerated energy can be collected and stored as an energy saving measure. KM50 Power Monitors display both the power consumption and power generation, and save these values in the built-in memory. Therefore it is possible to check the status of the energy generation and total regenerated energy, as well as the regenerated energy for the last two days in five minute intervals.
Total Reactive Power
The total reactive power is displayed and the power factor is improved to support energy-saving measures.
Reactive power is generated when there is a phase difference between the voltage and the current in the load. If the total reactive power is known, a phase advance capacitor can be introduced to reduce power loss. This will reduce electricity costs.
KM50 Power Monitors display the reactive power and save the data in the built-in memory. Therefore it is possible to check the total reactive power for the advanced or lagging reactive power, as well as the reactive power for the last two days in five minute intervals.
Conversion to Monetary Cost
The amount of power consumed in standby mode can be displayed as a monetary cost or the equivalent CO2 emission.
It is essential that people in the workplace as well as all department personnel are committed to energy-saving activities. Presenting the outcomes of the energy-saving activities with easily understandable information such as the cost of electricity and amount of CO2 emission can increase the effectiveness of these activities. The KM50-E Power Monitors can display the power consumed in different energy classifications in monetary terms.
Flow Rate Measurements
The flow rate and power can be measured simultaneously, enabling the optimization of energy usage and production.
Pulse inputs from a flow meter with pulse transmission are counted using the pulse conversion function. Power and the flow rate can be measured simultaneously, enabling optimized energy usage according to the status of production.
Simple Temperature Measurements
The indoor temperature and power can both be viewed, making it easier to manage the energy usage.
With a temperature sensor built into the front panel of the KM50 Power Monitor, temperature and power can be measured and displayed at the same time. Mounting the KM50 Power Monitor on the distribution board makes it possible to monitor the room temperature and status of air-conditioning to devise energy saving strategies. Mounting it on the control panel makes it possible to monitor the temperature inside the control panel.
In addition to active power, the current, voltage, power factor, reactive power, and regenerative power can be used to monitor the equipment.
Upper and lower limit thresholds can be set for each measurement item. An alarm will sound if the current, voltage, or power factor instantaneously exceeds the threshold value. An alarm can also be output when regenerative power (generation) is generated.
Accurate Measurement of Standby Power When Equipment Is Stopped
Micropower measurement is the key to measuring stopped power. The low-cut current below the 10% level can be accurately measured. This was not possible with the measurement accuracy of previous power monitors.
Just Clamp on the Sensors to Take Measurement
The Power Monitor can be attached without having to stop the power supply because measurements can be taken directly from the AC input without any wiring.
Data Logging for Installation Tests and Daily Operation
Measurements are logged at an interval of 5 minutes, 1 day, or 1 month, and saved in the Power Sensor. The logged data can be analyzed according to the application to assist in effective operation from installation to maintenance.
Incorrect Voltage Wiring Detection
Incorrect voltage input wiring is detected. The location where the wiring is incorrect is reported.
The Smart Power Monitor itself can also save energy. The display is turned OFF whenever there is no key operation.
